So you know. And we know. And we know that you know.

Hello dear readers!

To further advance our blogging prowess, I’m coming at you to ask your opinion on a few different ideas!
We desperately want to fan the flames of our little blog! We want to get our smoldering embers to a big fire, happily crackling on Christmas. Okay, not necessarily on Christmas. But we do want it to thrive and grow and be a virtual metropolis of photos and happiness. In order to make this actually happen, we want to find out what all of our beautiful readers want to see!

This can be but is not limited to:
1.) More photos in each post- do you want too see more of a whole shoot? Do the posts leave you unfulfilled and you wish you just had a few more examples?

2.) Less photos in each post- do you want to see less photos? Are you nauseated amount of photos and just want it to be short and sweet?

3.) More person information about us- We often joke about having our own reality show on Bravo, because quite frankly, some of the shenanigans we get into have to be seen to be believed. We are open books of information, and whether you want to get a glimpse of our personal lives is completely up to you! It can be a scary place (but totally awesome at the same time.) Like a Tim Burton movie. If that sounds remotely interesting, a weekly post dedicated to our likes/dislikes/celebrity crushes/favorite foods/current sock color is totally doable. It would be like a weekly Barbara Walters interview (only with far less crying.)

4.) Some sort of FAQ post- we do get occasional questions about our shooting, equipment, post processing, etc. We would be delighted to bestow some of the wisdom we do have upon you! This could easily be combined with a personal post, because fielding questions about shooting and our favorite places to shop for shoes goes hand in hand, if you ask me.

5.) More of a certain kind of post- this is somewhat of a seasonal issue, but is there a certain type of post you would like to see more of? I know I am just getting the ball rolling again with the blog, and there’s not much to behold yet, but is there something you are itching to see? I am planning to blog like a mad woman this summer to try and keep up with all of our weddings and seniors, but I would be 87.43% more motivated to write blog posts everyday if I knew that it something you would be looking forward to.

Does ANY of this interest you?? If it does, please please please please comment below! It is 100% safe and super easy. Or if you prefer a horse of a different color, write on our Facebook wall! I could say we are hardly ever on Facebook, but it would be a downright LIE.  If we get no responses, we will do all of the above (that’s right. more and less photos at the same time) assuming you all were too torn and just couldn’t make a decision.

And now, because I desperately want it to stop snowing…

The day we tried to bake.

I believe in luck. I really think that the universe works in a way that provides you with inexplicable moments of joy for no reason at all. I had one of those moments last week when I found the recipe for cookie-stuffed cookies.  Because how else can you describe finding a recipe for a cookies with cookies STUFFED INSIDE THEM other than a bit of luck?  There was no way that I was going to let my lucky moment go to waste!  So upon showing Abby the recipe and having this conversation:
Cookie-stuffed cookies.
Shut up.
We should make them sometime.
Heck yes!
Like tomorrow.
Uh duh.
It was on. We had a plan. A day of cookie-stuffed cookies and lattes for myself, Abby and her sister Randee (mommy to Weston and cat-mommy to Sophie.) Nothing could hold us back! We were going to forge new cookie-making ground! It was an experience, and it was documented.

This is how the day went:

Sunday February 20th, 2011
1:45 p.m- Quinn arrives at Randee’s house, cookie supplies and camera in hand.
2:00 pm- lattes are made, ingredients are assembled and baby Weston is cooed over.

2:15- ingredients are mixed together to the best of our abilities. There is a slight “uh oh” moment with the butter. (This later proves to be our fatal flaw.)

2:30- our Kitchen Roles are assumed:
Quinn is the chief photographer AKA “pour that slower!”
Randee is the music coordinator AKA responsible for the Christmas music wafting through the house.
Abby is the chief mixer, chopper, pourer, scooper, egg cracker and latte maker  AKA Abby is making the cookies.
Sophie is the chief cat.

2:40- the wet ingredients (butter, vanilla, eggs, etc) are mixed in with the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, etc.)

2:45- the electric mixer has whipped (literally) our cookie batter into a strange, strange consistency.
It either resembles
A.) whipped cream
B.) yogurt
C.) not typical cookie batter

We now have atypical cookie batter.  Abby thinks it’s because the butter was mostly melted (not softened!). Randee thinks we’ve measured something wrong. Quinn is pretty sure it still tastes the same, because she eating it off of her finger.

2:47- Mothers are called. Theories are given.
2:48- more flour is added.
2:49- more flour is added.
2:50- more flour is added and we decide to refrigerate our goopy batter in hopes of regaining our cookie-stuffed cookie dreams.
2:55- we take a brief interlude and snuggle/feed Weston.

3:00- we resume cookie efforts.

3:10- we slide the cookies into the oven.
3:20- we think something has gone wrong.

3:45: we conclude the cookies either look
A.) cancerous
B.) pregnant
C.) delicious

and they were.

I was specifically told to add this photo to the blog because it is Abby and Randee’s sisterly relationship in a nutshell. And although you cannot see it in this photo, they were pretty much wearing the same green sweatshirt.

this is Sophie’s WUT face.

If you have made it to the end of my ridiculously long blog post, please remember to click on the photos to view them “in yo face” style.

We be rockin’.

This is what happens when we have to wait to start shooting.

This is before a great shoot with my friends Micki and Chris. We were hanging out at the Capitol, waiting for the Capitol Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew set (which is probably one of the coolest things to do during the summer) and therefore, this was the obvious thing to do.
