When summer gathers up her robes of glory, and, like a dream, glides away.

Not my quote, sadly. It’s Sarah Helen Whitman’s. But I think it expresses my feelings better than anything I could come up with, so I’m borrowing it.

Summer is waning, my friends. A big part of me is sad to see another summer end, because let’s face it- winters in North Dakota can drain your soul. We wait for summer during months of snow and grey skies and when it arrives we have a few precious months of dense, hot air, bonfires, sunscreen and flip flops. But then we must bid it adieu and remind ourselves that while fleeting and glorious, summer will come again.  A smaller part of me is eager for autumn to start, but eager nonetheless! I do love autumn. I love the brisk air and the falling leaves (even though that technically means they’re dead), drinking really hot coffee and wearing mittens.  We have a plethora of fall/winter weddings to keep us busy, so bring it on, autumn! Just don’t snow.

In the meantime, here is the Bleth family.  We had the honor of shooting their family photos.  It was probably one of the most relaxed and carefree shoots we’ve had in a long time. They took Jack and me on their pontoon (my first boat ride in many moons) and we (sailed? drove? boated?) to a sandbar and we just got to relax and take some sweet photos. We were there to do a job, but by the end of the evening it felt like we were all friends just relaxing on a boat. It’s shoots like this one that make me realize what an amazing job I have! So thank you to the Bleth family! We had so much fun and were truly blessed to take your photos!

Enjoy and comment below, y’all!
